Our fresh fish promise
We source our fish from the fish market every morning - 7 days a week, and we only serve fresh fish - no frozen fish fillets are served - even the market fish of the day (often Hoki, Red Cod, Rig, Monkfish) is fresh from the market. There is no substitute to the taste of fresh fish. We serve only fish caught in clean New Zealand waters (many Fish & Chip Shops serve Vietnamese Basa fish - farmed in the highly polluted Mekong Delta).

We also have a fresh fish counter so you can buy fresh fish, oysters, scallops etc to take home to cook.
Healthy options
We offer a really light, crispy battered fish, that'll stay crisp until you get it home.
We offer a healthy pan-fried fish option for speciality fish fillets, either pan fried 'au naturel'
or lightly coated in Japanese Panko breadcrumbs. Lower in fat and light, crispy breadcrumbs
have made this a hit with our customers.
All specialty fish fillets come with lemon slices.
If you don't want your fries lightly salted, just tell us in advance and we'll make sure they are unsalted.
Gluten Free
We offer a light, crispy gluten free batter on specialty fish fillets for an additional $1 per fillet, so now the whole family can enjoy fresh fish & chips, even the gluten intolerant.
Our chips have a cult following!
Our fries are yellow Agria fries the best potato fries you can buy. We serve 13mm square cut chips that maximise the favour while minimising the oil content.
Clean Canola oil
We fry in vegetable Canola oil which has no taste so it allows the taste of our fish & chips to shine. We filter and clean the oil daily. This means we do not have a build up of small pieces of batter etc that burn and taint the oil taste. We know of no other fish & chip shop that cleans its oil daily.
Gourmet burgers
We have 3 great tasting and affordable gourmet burgers - 100% Pure Angus beef burger, Marinated chicken breast burger and a Terakihi fillet of fish burger. Lunchtimes Fri - Sun (12 - 3pm) we offer special value combo burger meals and a drink.
Cooked from scratch and Phone orders
As we cook all meal orders from scratch, orders can take from 5 - 30 minutes on a busy night. If you order at the shop, our staff are trained to advise you how long your order will take before you order, in case this doesn't fit your plans. We're not like a fast food chain where the food is pre-cooked and left sitting heated waiting for a customer! Sometimes good things still take some time! We do take phone orders and again will let you know when these will be ready. Simply call us on 09 846 6884.
Local fishermen
If you catch your own fish and want us to cook it, just bring it in filleted and we'll cook it for you for just $1 a fillet - either deep-fried or pan-fried.
