The health benefits of Kiwi Fish & Chips
In terms of health we are often told to eat more fish;
- Fish reduces cholesterol due to the Omega 3 oils present and may help keep your heart healthy
- Fish is full of selenium, phosphorus and iron
- Fish contains lots of Vitamin D3 which helps to fight diabetes and protects against certain cancers. Vitamin D3 is also important for the health and development of bones, nervous system and muscles
- Fish is also an important part of a healthy diet and may help us all in the ageing process
- Ideally we should all be eating 2 - 3 portions of fish each week.
Potatoes are also a valuable part of our diet;
- Potatoes contain almost no fat
- They are low in calories - about 77kcal per 100g
- Potatoes are high in potassium and magnesium - valuable minerals
- They are high in vitamin C and other vitamins
- They are an important source of fibre
- They are a good energy source as they are up to 25% starch based
Potatoes contain more vitamin C than an apple and five times less calories than pasta!
